Artemis - Women’s Chorus (Open to grades 9-12, no audition required): Women’s Chorus is open to all female students, grades 9-12, without an audition. This performing ensemble will learn about various styles of music, healthy vocal production, part reading, music theory, choreography, and performing. Women’s Chorus members will work to become stronger musicians, vocalists and performers. Participants will perform at all major vocal department concerts, and in other events. Participation in Women’s Chorus includes a $10 class fee.

Members will perform music in various styles including classical, chamber, Broadway, sacred, gospel, jazz, and pop. Members will participate in CHSAA festivals and sometimes travel to other competitions, as well as perform in the community. Students will be encouraged to audition for the Colorado All State Choir, other honor festivals, and will have various solo and small ensemble performance opportunities. Participation in Concert Choir includes a $10 class fee.
Venus (Open to grade 10-12, audition required): This 15-24 member vocal ensemble is a performance and competition ensemble that will be comprised of a balanced mix of female voices. This performing ensemble will learn about various styles of music, healthy vocal production, music theory, part reading, choreography, and performing. Show choir members will work to become stronger musicians, vocalists, and performers. Participants will perform choreographed vocal sets at all major vocal department concerts and in competitions. Members will participate in CHSAA festivals and sometimes travel to other competitions, as well as perform in the community. Juniors and seniors are required to audition for the Colorado All State Choir. Venus members will be required to purchase special performance costumes. Participation in Venus includes a $10 class fee. There may also be additional costs for entrance fees, buses, competitions and choreography. NOTE: Students are required to audition for this ensemble. Auditions will be held in the spring semester of the preceding academic year.
